MONTRÉAL, CANADA (December 15, 2016) Marketel McCann announced earlier today that it is rebranding to McCann Montréal. Corresponding with the announcement, Mylène Savoie will join the agency as President.
“Nearly 30 years ago, we merged the operations of Marketel and McCann in Montréal and for the longest time we have used the brand name Marketel,” said Jacques Duval, Chairman of McCann Montréal. “As clients and our industry have increasingly complex needs and become more global every day, our McCann Worldgroup partnership is more valuable than ever before. After 30 years, it’s time to send refreshing signals of change while leveraging best practices, synergies and technological advances from around the world.”
“Just a few months ago, we made a similar move when we announced that MacLaren McCann was rebranding to McCann,” said David Leonard, CEO, McCann Canada. “Although it is essential that each McCann office keeps its own personality and close proximity to the market dynamics and individual client needs, aligning behind the power of the McCann brand symbolizes our commitment to our clients to offer even greater synergies and talent fluidity.”
Timed to correspond with the rebrand, an extensive executive search was conducted resulting in Mylène Savoie being named President of McCann Montréal. Savoie, a Montréal native, joins the agency with more than 15 years’ experience in the market at leading Montreal advertising agencies, including Taxi, JWT and Leo Burnett. Most recently, she was the managing director of the John St. Montréal office.
Said Savoie, “At this pivotal juncture, it’s an honor to be leading an agency with such a wide range of creative talent and open access to McCann’s wealth of resources, expertise and specialized divisions from around the world.”
Added Duval, “We are excited to have Mylène on our team. She is a gifted and proven leader who is a perfect fit because of her experience with local, national and international clients and agency global networks as well.“
