In honour of World Lung Day, we’ve unveiled a travelling art installation in the sky, Lungs in the Air. Developed on behalf of the Canadian Lung Association, the thought-provoking installation gives Canadians a view 100 feet up at the awe-inspiring lungs – a powerful artistic representation illustrating that what’s happening in the air is also happening in our lungs.
To further people’s understanding of the impact of air quality, we partnered with our sister agency, Performance Art, to co-create LungsInTheAir.ca. The website’s interactive experience is fuelled by an API sourcing real-time air quality data. On the site, the visualization of the lungs changes colour and density to reflect the levels of pollutants in cities across Canada.
We give a special shout out to 3D/XR/VR artist, Fezz Stenton, who helped with the design of the inflatable lungs, and to Glow Inflatables who brought our bigger-than-life idea to, well… life!
